NJ Transit have a reasonable website, which tells me that the best plan is to drive to a station 13 miles away rather than use the one nearby, as there's no direct train from where I am, and seemingly only one train per hour on each of the lines.
Hopefully my notes scribbled on hotel stationery from online driving directions will get me to the station, hopefully I'll negotiate all the right rituals that are always involved in using an unfamiliar public transport system, and hopefully I should arrive in the middle of Manhatten.
Shame I didn't take my camera with me. I didn't forget it, I made a deliberate decision not to take it, but I can't quite recall why I made that decision. I don't think I was thinking about what I'd do at the weekend, and just thought I wouldn't have much chance to use it while at work.
