My aims are to learn more of a foreign language, and to feel confident about using foreign languages in general. I only have a bit of German and French (er... and possibly a smattering of Latin from the year or two of that I did around age 12), and German is the one that interests me the most. I've found that I get utterly tongue-tied when I have to try to use what I have of other languages outside the very confined bounds of a restaurant menu or similar. Even when in theory I have the vocabulary to say something meaningful, I'm not in practise at constructing sentences around a limited vocabulary. I end up stuck because I can't think of a way to say what I'm trying to express.
