I saw Nightwish play at the Astoria last night. There are few places better to be in a foul mood than in the centre-front just before a metal gig. As soon as the band come on and start with a big crowd-pleaser from there latest album you can scream and shout, wave your hands in the air, jump around and even (within reason) hit people. As you lose yourself in the music and crowds, the frustration, hurt and anger get swamped.

Even beyond that, it was a very good gig, the crowd interaction was much better than when I last saw them and I knew more of the songs. Nightwish are an accomplished live act.
