Usually I wouldn't give that sort of solipsistic teenage philosophy much consideration, but over the past few weeks I keep being told that I'm not a "real person", and that there's a "real world" that doesn't match my experiences. I don't get told that directly, but a lot of media, politicians and vox-pops talk about "real people", and usually that seems to be a set that excludes me.
On the other hand, this "real world" seems to be rather full of bigotry, intolerance and poorly reasoned opinions formed in the ignorance or blatant denial of facts. Maybe I'm better off not being a real person in the real world.
Fortunately, I seem to get a vote despite not being a real person. I think I'll cast it for other unreal people in the hope that some of the nasty aspects of the real world can be removed and more people can become unreal.
