Apparently, “Ajmaline occurs as a white to pale yellow, crystalline powder. It is odourless, and has a bitter taste. It is freely soluble in acetic anhydride and in chloroform, sparingly soluble in methanol, in ethanol, in acetone and in diethyl ether, and very slightly soluble in water. It dissolves in hydrochloric acid. It is used as a heart drug.”
