Saw The Cuckoo last night. The premise is a Russian solider and Finnish (but dressed as SS) solider are stranded at a Sámi woman's remote house. Rather than speaking English with silly accents, the sá woman, Russian solider, Finnish solider all spoke their own languages with comic lack of understanding.

However, that's where the film fails, in my opinion. It slides between a anti-war film and a romantic comedy. The anti-war subjects, and those of wider conflict embodied in personal animosity, is better covered in Tanovic's No Man's Land, and romantic comedy isn't really my thing anyway.

A fairly good film, with beautiful scenery, but not a great.
